Dominica
Everyone is familiar with the green iguana (Iguana iguana), however, few people are aware of the existence of a second species of Iguana, the Lesser Antillean iguana (Iguana delicatissima). As its name implies, this species is restricted to the Lesser Antillies in the Caribbean, however, only in the island of Dominica this species still has a relatively healthy population. I spent a couple of months in the island working as a field assistant to Charles (Chuck) Knapp.
(Note, Dominica is a different country than the Dominican Republic).
